Support the Pocket Forest Project at Buhr Park

What is a Pocket Forest?

A Pocket Forest is a small, densely grown forested area designed to bring nature closer to our homes and parks. These green spaces contribute to biodiversity, improve air quality, and provide a sanctuary for local flora and fauna.

The Buhr Park Pocket Forest Proposal

We are excited to share that there's a proposal submitted to the Parks and Recreation department for a Pocket Forest in Buhr Park. The proposed site, located near Wet Meadow 3, west and south of Edison’s bench, aims to create a 50’x60’ area with a path down the middle. It will be created as a model and inspiration to be used in other parks and other open spaces such as yard.
